Lace Web

This website is dedicated to lacemakers from the past that pioneered this intriguing art and craft and to those lacemakers that are committed to keeping lacemaking alive.

The aim for ‘LaceWeb’ will be to inform the visitor of past and contemporary lacemaking practice. By highlighting the social advantages of the craft, bringing together views from the artist, the lacemaker, the researcher and the collector, we will be contributing to our new digital cultural heritage.

Lacemaking today can be an absorbing pastime that has social value; it has taken nearly 500 years to evolve, and with new technology being used as a tool for the dissemination of information, it is hoped the website will contribute to the advancement and continuation of this ancient craft.
