Anne's
Collection of Lace
Ref: 08.AS.1.

In the past I have given talks on the making and the history of bobbin lace-sometimes referred to as pillow lace. During the introduction I would remind my audience of the ways they may have made lace using various methods e.g. knitting, crochet, pulled lined, drawn thread, tatting, Teneriffe etc. Having displayed articles of these alternative laces, this would usually generate a few minutes of chatter as they confirmed their preference to the person sitting close to them. Having drawn their minds to the art of lacemaking, in all its forms, they relax and become only too happy to take on board another facet of lacemaking i.e. bobbin lacemaking.
